Exercise and Graduation
Participants
should bring their CERT bag. A good pair of gloves is essential.
Eye protection and a dusk mask are helpful when using the fire extinguisher.
Wear comfortable shoes, boots are best - no sandals or open toe
shoes. Bring sunscreen. Kneepads can be helpful as is a flashlight.

Arrive
between 9:30 and 9:45 to allow time to find parking, sign in and
get your CERT helmet. |
From
10 to noon, the class is divided into groups which rotate through
4 different stations. |

| This is followed by a
chance to sit down and enjoy a lunch provided by the Fire Department.

Water and sodas are also
provided during the day. |
After
lunch the groups are assigned specific tasks to perform during the
disaster exercises: fire suppression, search and rescue, medical
operations and triage. Remember safety and teamwork. |

The teams rotate to
another task and one more exercise takes place. The day usually
ends by 3:00 after the presentations and photos!
