RBCERTAA board members swearing in ceremony was performed by Captain Matt John.

Fire Departmentís Corner:Captain Johnson stated Chief Engler has approved for us to use the storage unit at Station 2, they will only store items for CERT training in it.He also wanted to get ideas on recruitment, create a flyer to promote CERT with local business so we can increase classes to 35 students.Alisa volunteered to work on flyer.

Mike Grady will present at next board meeting receipts for web site domain charges.Yahoo no longer provide this for free.Charges are $35.00 or 2003 and 2004. Valerie Heath will also need to purchase paper for thank you certificates.

Motion to approve the July financials made by Valerie, second by Mike.Approved by all 10 members.

Drills & Trainings:No drill/training scheduled in July.Valerie Heath will email Mike Grady the July training news email to include August training information as well as victims needed for July 24th, Class 26 graduation drill.

August 20th training will be held between 6:30pm & 9:00pm, Board decided not to provide food at this training. We will not have a pot-luck this time.

Communications:Mike presented a flyer for Amateur Radio course, FCC ďTechnician Class.Course will be held July, 24, 31 & Aug 7.Course is free, FCC test questions available for $15 and copy of the course slides for $8.Information will be posted on the web site as well as in the July training news email.

Installation Brunch:Margot Hoffman worked on Mikeís idea to have an installation brunch for the 2004-2005 Board of Directors board members and Executive board members. She proposed to have a brunch held a Marie Callenderís, on August 1st.Discussion about having CERT members having to pay $10 and rest of charges be covered by CERT was declined. In order to have a space reserved, they do require $50 deposit and will charge us for a minimum of 20 people.Margot has prepaid the $50.00 and need to get back to them within 72 hours in order to get her money back.Valerie counted 14 people tonight, once we send email to past board members, Fire Dept., Safety Commission, and regular guests, we should have at least 20 people.††

Motion to have a brunch at Marie Callenderís on August 1st, and for RBCERTAA to prepay $20 per person with the intent for Valerie to collect money at breakfast from people who decided to come made by Mike Grady and second by Alisa Zells.Passed by 10 people.

Citizens Corps Council: Jared Van Sloten visited the Corps Council meeting, said the Mayor stayed until one oíclock; looked at Corps Council for the next 6 months.Public Safety fair has been replaced by Patriots Day, it will be held at Redondo High School, September 11th between 10:00am and 3:00pm.

All entities of Corps council will be involved. We have to figure what to do with Chief Engler and the Fire Dept. Corps Council approved for CERT to have a demo, with Moulage.K9 & SWAT Team will have their demos and other activities will be scheduled during the day.

CERT skit idea: bring a wrecked car, pretend hit a park bench, people injured on bench and under the car. CERT performs triage, cribbing to free victim under the car, do basic first aid, call dispatch for an ambulance, paramedics come over and take victims to hospital.Committee chair person will be Jared Van Sloten, Randy Stacy, Bob Heil, Michael Vaccaro and Alisa Zells to help out.We will bring the CERT trailer, Mike Will not be able to bring since he is working that day.May be Garth can bring it over, we need a car strong enough to tow it and that has a hitch. We will present scenario to Chief Engler and get his approval before we go forward with this.

Funding & Equipment: John Moawad is still working to get us generators.Honda was very impressed to see our trailer at the Memorial Day Parade; they would like to put their logo on it.

Response Center:Mike distributed the equipment wish list, board members discussed it and agreed to have it posted on the website and email to all alumni that we are in search for all those items. Some items can be donated instead of being purchased.Contact person will be Mike Grady.

Phone Tree:Mike will remain the phone-tree/e-tree coordinator till he can find a volunteer to take over both.He strongly feels that they should not be separated.

Boutique CERT:Julie Treher will distribute a final inventory list, she still wants to get accurate numbers to what is stored in the trailer and at Independent Repair.Since Julie has attended two classes and drills, and we have noticed that sales went up.Excellent work Julie!

New Business:

Elections:Valerie Heath ran the election for the Executive Board members, Paul Weavers helped out by counting the votes.2004-2005 Executive Board is as follow:Randy Stacy - President,

Garth McWhorter - Vice President, Margot Hoffman - Secretary, and Alisa Zells - Treasurer.

Victims Needed:Lisa Burke wanted to remind everyone that Class 26 graduation will be on Saturday July 24th, and she could use about 12 to 15 victims. If everyone can stay afterward, she would like to finish the CERT video.

Medical Reserve Corps:Free emergency preparedness class to be held on August 14th at the Beach Cities Health Center, 10:00am-12:00pm.

Elite Team: Mike distributed the RBCERTAA Elite Team Concept. With the help of the Fire Dept. getting us trained on other aspect than covered in classes and training, we should be able to form an elite team with in a year.Total members needed would be 29.Team will encompass of a leader, scribe, Fire Dept., logistics, triage team, search team and transport team.

Relay for Life:$185,000 was raised that day.CERT first aid booth went well; the only main injury was a broken arm.

Corey Fleisher has invited board members to come to his annual Home Owner Association BBQ, this will be a great opportunity to show about 200 people what CERT is all about.. Mike will bring the CERT trailer, we will have space to set up a booth, bring flyers and applications as we will be able to register people in the September Class #27.

Having no further business the Board Meeting was adjourned at approximately 8:57pm.
